JOB TITLE: Freelance Sales Coordinator

General Summary: 

Zodiac Impex Inc. is a freight forwarding company which is looking forward to establish its business in Air Freight & Ocean Freight. We are currently looking for Freelance Sales Coordinator with an excellent understanding of Transportation.

Compensation: Based on percentage of net sales

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Promotes/sells/secures orders from prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates services to potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

  • Promote company and/or client services and solutions related to air cargo/ sea cargo to potential clients.
  • Acquire new customers for domestic, International and trans-border air cargo by maximizing all potential opportunities with existing clients and through cold calling and/or meeting with new prospects.
  • Develop international agents to strengthen operational network in order to provide cost effective and efficient solutions.
  • Research sources and markets for developing prospective customers.
  • Provide rates and alternative freight solutions for potential clients.
  • Participate in sales meetings and produce weekly reports.
  • Report to Business Manager on sales plan development, weekly personal itinerary and market competitive development.
  • Perform other work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess experience in selling services to businesses.
  • Possession of a post-secondary degree
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Canadian Pacific terminates efforts to merge with Norfolk Southern

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. (CP) has announced that it has terminated efforts to merge with Norfolk Southern Corp. (NS), including the withdrawal of a resolution asking NS shareholders to vote in favour of good-faith negotiations between the two companies. According to the announcement, no further financial offers or overtures to meet with the NS board of directors are planned at this time.

According to the company, Canadian Pacific Railway proposed the creation of an end-to-end railroad with the intention of increasing competition, easing freight congestion now and into the future, improve service to shippers, better support the economy and generate significant shareholder value for both companies.

CP CEO E. Hunter Harrison, said of the negotiation termination, “We have long recognized that consolidation is necessary for the North American rail industry to meet the demands of a growing economy, but with no clear path to a friendly merger at this time, we will turn all of our focus and energy to serving our customers and creating long term value for CP shareholders.”

Job Description
Ocean Import Coordinator (3 Month Contract)
Monday to Friday – 40hrs a week
We are a Freight Forwarding Company looking to hire an Ocean Import CSR Agent to serve as a point of contact for the customer, overseas agents. This will ensure operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction at file level for all import shipments in to Canada and USA.Responsibilities:

Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by answering all customer inquiries within the same day whenever feasible or within 24-hours of inquiry, including exceptions, rates, other fees and track & trace
Further increase customer satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contact
Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization
Resolve freight related issues ; prepare and submit reports
Communicate with and ensure release of the freight from ocean carriers
Arrange for pick-up of cargo from carrier location
Notify customer/broker of arrival and charges
Arrange transportation of freight to consignee destination
Updating internal electronic systems as required
Other duties as requested

Education:
Secondary School
Previous Freight Forwarding knowledge is an asset

Ability to clearly and concisely present both written and/or oral information
